A "Secret City" of the Manhattan Project during World War II, today Oak Ridge is home to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Y-12 National Security Complex. Oak Ridge is also a close neighbor to Knoxville, the University of Tennessee, and the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
